ExhibitPlus Gyotaku Revisited-2
Title: Gyotaku Revisited
Artist: Alan P. Ness
Date: 7/2005
Dimensions: 48in tall, 60in wide, 24in deep
Materials: Fused Plate Glass, Glass Enamels, Forged Steel
Details: The fish image is taken from a real fish using the Japanese technique of Gyotaku Fish Printing. Once transfered to the glass, the glass is fused and slumped to "sandwich" the image between the glass sheets, thus immortalizing the image forever. This specialized technique can be applied to all architectural and artistic applications upon request.
